Kingston (aka Cow)

Happy Tails | Adopted 2026-04-10

Kingston is doing so well!! He came to us pretty timid and afraid of so much (any dogs barking or even walking near, scared of a hair dryer, and his tail always being tucked under his legs).  Today he is absolutely thriving!! They found a pellet in his leg from formally being shot and now he no longer constantly bites at that area and probably feels SO much relief there. We have him in puppy school and he is doing great. He is more submissive vs aggressive so the other dogs are super chill with him. He can be stubborn with recall but the GP in him is known to be stubborn. He LOVES peanut butter. We give him a kong with some PB in it nightly when he goes into his crate (and he never complains about going in as long as we toss in a treat)

He is still fearful of walking through the neighbourhood because he's been spooked by loud, barking dogs, but he is content to walk our short street and sniff to his hearts content. Little by little he has been going a bit further so we are just patient with him. We also found a gated schoolyard he loves to run around in to let out some energy.

His favourite toys are stuffies because he likes to destroy them, and he is learning to love chasing balls and brings them back most of the time to throw again.

We really couldn’t have been more blessed to rescue such a well mannered, kind puppy who is learning to love life and feel free to know he is safe and won't be harmed ever again. People compliment him ALL the time on how cute he is. one lady told us he should be in a Petsmart commercial!
