Annual General Meeting 2017
Kingston Humane Society – Annual General Meeting | Thursday, May 25, 2017
You’re invited to join the Kingston Humane Society for a review of the affairs and highlights of 2016, and to participate in the election of directors to the Board. Attend our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at our new time 6:00PM. The meeting is being held at Ongwanada Resource Centre located at 191 Portsmouth Avenue, Kingston Ontario.
We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker is Barbara Cartwright, Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies, who will be speaking about Capacity for Care. Capacity for Care (C4C) is a management model that helps shelters better meet the needs of the animals in their facility. It creates the conditions necessary to provide shelter animals with the Five Freedoms, thereby improving the welfare of individual animals. Ms. Cartwright brings more than 20 years of experience as a professional advocate for animal welfare, conservation, and humane education.
KHS members and the public are welcome, however, you must be a member to vote. There will also be a door prize for current members! To become a member or renew your membership online click here. You may also contact the shelter at (613) 546-1291 to pay by credit card, or visit the shelter in person.
Unable to attend the meeting but still want to vote? You can vote by proxy. Watch for the May 2017 AGM proxy form available here or at the shelter.DOWNLOAD THE PROXY FORM HERE
